Other than never giving it any water, you can’t kill this lovely Japanese native. Thick, sturdy, upright stalks to 6-7’ tall burst into huge clouds (3’ across) of lavender-pink Columbine-like flowers in June. Some say it’s best massed, but my single plantings never fail to impress. Deciduous but returns each season. Rich, loamy soil. Cut back to 1” in Fall. Deer resistant! May ship dormant until May.
