Native to South Africa, this highly decorative succulent features tiny variegated cream and grayish-green leaves, contrasted with vivid reddish-purple stems. Outdoors, this multi-branching plant will fill out to 3-4' tall and wide, densely populated with 1/2” smooth and glossy leaves. Similar looking, but not related, to a jade plant, it can occasionally produce clusters of tiny violet flowers in summer. This frost tender, drought tolerant succulent is also known as Elephant bush, as it is a favorite food for African elephants. Easy to grow and care for, just give this succulent lots of sun and good drainage. A little regular water will encourage a full and vibrant appearance. This beauty can also be grown as a houseplant, a popular option for those in colder climates. Prune to desired shape.
