We’re all in agreement on this one – this pretty purple petticoat of a poppy is smashing! Frilly and fringed semi-double lilac flowers with a darker center are held on long stems above grey-green foliage. Outer petals keep their cupped shape and cradle the inner petals, making for an excellent flower form. Poppies like rich soil, a sunny position, and to be planted during the cool season (fall though early spring)! Those of you in colder zones should plant after your last frost, but here in the temperate Bay Area you can also plant in the fall, for twice as many flowers in the spring! To 3-4' high.
