Can you get any better than a Spring-thru-Fall blooming Ceanothus? A beautiful fast-growing loosely rounded shrub and butterfly magnet, it gives a continuous display of fragrant powder blue 4-5” panicles, well-displayed on reddish stems. Cut spent blooms for nonstop flowers, or leave them for the showy clusters of red berries (good in arrangements). An East Coast/West Coast hybrid, it’s happy in a range of soils and temps. Drought tolerant, though most glorious in rich garden soil with regular water. A choice anchor in a mixed garden, it can reach 8’ x 6’. Cut back to 4’ in late Fall or early Spring to maintain a shorter, bushy shape. Deer and salt resistant.
