You take the glamour of a ballgown, cross it with the versatility of blue jeans, and you have Amandine Purple Jean. Lacy green foliage offers up large, pillowy-soft, fully doubled (and then some) blooms that start their color journey in soft lilacky hues, travelling down the road to purple before arriving at what can only be described as old-school-denim indigo. Perfectly suited for any color combination, an early spring bloomer whose thick stems make it a standout for standing up in the garden. Incredibly long lasting as a cut flower. Ranunculus can be planted in containers or in garden beds spaced 4” to 6” and at a depth of 1” to 2”. In zones 9 & 10, plant bulbs in well drained soils in fall for early spring blooms. In mild regions, dormant bulbs can be left in the ground. Elsewhere, bulbs can be planted in early spring for late spring into early summer blooms. In zones 8 and under bulbs can be lifted and stored to ensure years and years of beautiful blooms.
