Blessed with vibrant cerise colored flowers and exceptionally strong fragrance, this heirloom sweet pea bred by Henry Eckford, (1907) also boasts heat tolerance and a long bloom season. Like the original cultivated sweat pea, Lathyrus ‘Cupani’ it can be planted as late as April or May. The flowers are a bit smaller like the original species but the deliciously sweet old-time scent is more than a fair trade-off. BEST cut flowers, self-sows to return each year! To 8’ tall. Rich soil, please! Plant in Fall through Spring in mild winter climates. Self sows.
