This much broader-leaved version of the popular Purple Heart plant is a real find! Featuring 3-4” wide, rich burgundy succulent leaves (to 7”) & equally burgundy stems, this semi-deciduous high ground cover (8-12”) can spread quickly from 2-4’. In late Spring, delicate, lavender spiderwort flowers (1/2”) appear at branch intersections. A native of Mexico, it is equally happy in mostly sun or part shade. Great for adding rich tones to a bed & drought tolerant once established. Situate in well-drained soil & for best results cut back in early Winter. Bait for snails. A type of Spiderwort, it’s great as a houseplant, too.
