So easy to grow! This lovely groundcovery wildflower native to California and much of North America grows anywhere there is sufficient moisture. Much like its cousins in the Mint family, it spreads by rooting along its stems to form a dense, weed-suppressing mat that is especially pretty planted as a groundcover or tucked between pavers – it can even be used as a walkable lawn alternative! When planted in a bed it tends to get a bit taller - around 1’ high. In Summer, 1” clusters of purple, tubular flowers emerge on the tips of stems, attracting gangs of bees and butterflies! Leaves can be eaten as you would Spinach and flowers can be used in herbal teas. Provide afternoon shade in hot, inland areas.
