One of the most unique and eye-catching plants found in the trade, the Golden Shrimp plant features brilliant yellow flower bracts that shoot up like flames above the textured green leaves. These 3-5” high, 4-sided bracts sprout pure white, two-lipped tubular flowers, providing bright points of contrast. A fast growing annual in all but zones 10 and 11, plants first form a 4' high x 2' wide shrub densely populated with prominently veined dark green leaves. Highly decorative and popular with hummingbirds, this native of Peru grows easily in our Bay Area climate. Whether lighting up a sunny bed or used to add that wow factor to a patio container, this long blooming plant will be the star attraction wherever it's used. It can even be grown indoors, where it will top out at 18”. Plant in full sun to light shade in fertile soil and keep plants well-watered. Plants may be overwintered indoors.
