Don't let the unfamiliar botanical name stop you from adding this charming succulent to your garden. Its rosettes are comprised of chubby, palest bluish-pink toes. The 4” long by 2” wide leaves are naturally covered in a powdery coating of epicuticular wax, that protects the plant from the hot sun and gives it that lovely pastel coloring. Plants stay low, to 4” high, but can spread to a full foot in diameter over time. In summer, 1/2” rose-red open-faced flowers appear at the tips of branches. This succulent is perfect for a container, where its petite charms can best be appreciated. It's perfect for adding color and texture to a mixed succulent bowl and can also be grown in a sunny window. It needs very good drainage, so be sure to add pumice or perlite to the garden bed or potting soil if grown indoors.
