This low-growing evergreen shrub offers small, glossy leaves and, come Spring, the most cheerful yellow flowers you’ve ever seen! The five pure yellow, heart-shaped petals on each 1” bloom make them simply irresistible! Butterflies certainly think so! Low and mounding, it can reach 1-1.5’ high and easily spread to 6’ wide. Use this tough little customer as a low hedge or border or as an understory planting in hotter regions. It’s pretty enough to feature in a sunny area but plays well with others in a mixed planting bed. Loves coastal sun but give it a bit of relief when planted in hotter inland zones. Tip prune for a denser form. Plant in fertile, well-drained soil. Mulch for Winter protection. Evergreen to 32°F. Native to the higher elevations of southern Australia.
