Native to the Midwest, this is a BIG honking perennial Sunflower, growing 4’ to 8’ tall & bearing lots of yellow blooms on long stems very late in the year - August thru Fall. Since it spreads by rhizomes (like H. maximillianii) it may not be suitable for small gardens, but it is useful for big, open areas you don’t want to water or take care of. Heat, drought & clay tolerant!
