If it's possible for a fern to be at once cute, incredibly hardy and just as happy indoors as it is outdoors, then this button fern is that rare denizen. Hailing from New Zealand, it features glossy, dark green, small & round (button) leaves on black, wiry & wandering stems. Though this fern can be planted in the ground, it is ideally used as a trailing plant in a hanging basket or elevated container. Attractive all on its own, one can also add vertical color to the pot, such as red or pink flowering cyclamen or, when grown indoors, colorful Croton houseplants. Outdoors, grow in morning or late afternoon sun. Unlike most ferns, this one does not like wet 'feet' so give it fast draining soil. Indoors, we recommend a 50-50 mix of potting soil and orchid bark. This versatile fern can be used in a variety of places, though in climates that get a regular freeze, it is best grown indoors. Deer resistant.
