Dwarf Checkerbloom, Dwarf Checkermallow

One of my big thrills recently was trying out this new, super EASY variety of our West Coast native “Checkermallow”. Much sturdier, with larger and richer, fuchsia-pink blooms- held on many strong, multi-branching upright stems to 4’ tall, it’s a front or mid-bed beauty and swell for providing a vertical accent. Attractive low clump of glossy, roundish foliage. Blooms Summer thru Fall, with deadheading. Cut flowers and butterflies!  Tough, long lived and tolerant of less than perfect soil, but give it fertile, loamy soil for best show.

Worth but NOT gopher/rodent resistant
Planted these Nov 23' and so far by Aug 24' two out of four have been taken from underground. Would definitely require a rootball cage for those considering this plant!!
