Eastern Ninebark

With striking plum-burgundy foliage, 3-5” clusters of creamy white flowers, attractive red seedpods and distinctive peeling bark, this hardyeastern Ninebark is the perfect shrub! Tough as nails and fast-growing,this showstopper will reach 6-8’ tall and wide, making it an ideal focal point in the garden. Beloved by bees, butterflies and songbirds, the 3-5 lobed 4” leaves on this deciduous shrub quickly appear in late Winter, followed by blooms in April or May. Makes a sophisticated statement when planted in contrast to green and yellow foliaged plants. Can be used as a hedge, screen or for erosion-control on banks and hillsides – excellent for fire-scaping! Peeling bark increases with age. Can handle our CLAY-ish soil, disease and insect resistant!
