A relatively mild pepper that is very popular in South-Western or Mexican cooking. The 2’ tall plants produce glossy dark peppers 3” wide at the shoulders and 6” long. The color changes from green to almost black as the pepper matures. After roasting and peeling, use stuffed or in Mole. Also good dried. Grow the plant 14-16” apart in full sun and add compost or manure before planting. Water deeply and evenly or the flowers will drop.
