An exceptionally garden-worthy California native Penstemon! Forms a low-growing, evergreen mat of grey-green foliage up to 1’ high and 2’ wide, perfect for the front of a bed or container (5 gal.+). Tubular, hummer-attracting flowers appear Spring thru Summer on upward-arching flower spikes. Grown from seed, the flower color is variable ranging from a perfect sky-blue to deepest blue-purple, all with a pink throat. Native to the Sierra foothills and mountain ranges from Northern California to Oregon. Deer resistant and drought tolerant, though it does look best with occasional Summer water. Provide good drainage for a happy plant.
