This ultra-rare Passiflora parritae x Passiflora ‘Mission Dolores’ hybrid from Passiflora plant breeder Carlos Rendon is possibly the most colorful passion flower you will ever grow! With unusually large bright orange flowers, and lots of them, it makes a dramatic show wherever you place it. The single form flowers are an eye-popping 6” across and populate the foliage from late summer through year's end. Dense foliage comprised of strap-shaped, dark green leaves provide a verdant backdrop for the floral show. Unusual for most passion flowers, this variety prefers morning sun or bright shade, not full sun. A sturdy climber, it can easily reach 20' high or wide. It's perfect for blanketing the side of a house, for climbing a tree or stretching along a fence. It doesn't mind pruning and needs only regular soil and decent drainage. This drought tolerant beauty is so rare we're not sure which hummers or butterflies will find it irresistible. Long lived, it can be a colorful companion for many years. Deer proof.
