Double the fun! Not only is Lemongrass an easy-to-grow, must-have for any herb garden, it also provides a lush & graceful, aromatic ornamental grass! Commonly used as an ingredient in Thai and Vietnamese cooking, it makes a delicious medicinal tea - iced in Summer, hot in Winter, it's a soothing lemony blast thought to cure sore throat, fever & repel mosquitoes! But that’s just one side of its fantastic dual nature - as a garden plant, it rapidly grows into lovely, bright green clumps that can be separated & replanted. In warmer climes, it’ll grow to 6’ tall by 4’ wide. The slender, elegant, nodding leaves are best when harvested green, if you intend to consume them - the browner the leaf, the less distinctive the flavor. In USDA zones 8 & below, it’ll do well in a large container (although it will not grow quite as large) & should over-winter nicely if it’s kept somewhere warm - it won’t stand up to frost. Super-easy to grow: well-draining soil & regular water will do the trick nicely!
