A poppy that keeps on giving and surprising! Striking cherry speckles against a white background and richly saturated deep crimson are the two colors we’ve mostly seen here in our gardens. A reliable self-sower, you’ll most likely get to see some of its other incarnations of speckled and striped shades of rose. This newer variety of cottage garden classic “Corn Poppy” delights with its exquisite 3” blooms floating in a mass above wiry stems to 30” tall. A cinch to grow, it blooms spring into summer – just give them full sun and compost enhanced soil; deadhead to prolong bloom. You can plant Papaver rhoeas later than other annual Papavers, up until mid to late spring. Perfecto mid-bed and in containers (5+ gal). Bees! Deer resistant.
