ULTRA-RARE & elegant, we are ecstatic to bring you this truly jet-black PERENNIAL Viola & recent U.K. immigrant/stunner 'Molly Sanderson'. Making herself right at home, she’ll produce plenty of ruffled, velvety, deep-purple to charcoal-black blooms with bright yellow eyes, to 1.5" across. The petals are edible, too - candied or sprinkled over a salad, they’re sure to amaze & delight! Grows into a neat cushion to 6" high & 12" wide, deadhead after first bloom to keep Molly tidy & blooming nearly year-round. Partial shade is advisable, especially in HOT inland areas. Give her uniformly moist (NOT soggy!) well-draining soil. Try planting with Tanacetum parthenium aureum "Golden Feverfew" to make those black flowers POP. Perfect in containers or used as a cut flower. Will successfully overwinter with a little protection from deep freezes.
