Sweetly fragrant white flowers and gorgeous burgundy Fall foliage make this deciduous shrub a sweet addition to your garden! Reaching up to 6’ tall and 8’ wide, it leafs out quickly in Spring, flowering soon after with 3-6” bottlebrush-like, downward arching cones attractive to bees and butterflies. The bright green elliptical foliage shifts to a bold burgundy in Autumn, clinging on well into the Fall before finally going fully deciduous. One of the most gloriously colorful shrubs in any garden. Plant in sun to light shade (no blasting heat), either in multiple plantings for large gardens or singly as a focal point in smaller gardens. Spires make an excellent cut flower. Water regularly for lush foliage. Feed with bloom fertilizer during flowering season. Prune to shape in Winter. Can handle our clay soils. Vigorous and long lived!
