As unique a Rose as can be found - the dusky, purple hued leaves of this shrub may confound garden visitors accustomed to the common Rose bush. Beautiful & striking in or out of bloom, its single 2” pink-blushed flowers are borne in clusters, & glow against the dark leaves. Bloom time is Spring & as this species is a once-bloomer, you won't get a repeat performance, but showy orange red hips follow the flowers & often persist through the Winter, adding interest to the plant. These make great cut flower material, too! Rosa glauca makes a handsome hedge, but can also mix easily into mixed borders. Mature plants have an upright habit with arching stems & can grow 7’ tall & 5’ or more wide. Drought tolerant, disease resistant & shade tolerant as well. What a package!
