An orchid-sexy flower that doesn’t require fussy orchid care! Though this very RARE (and unknown in cultivation!) Impatiens is similar and similarly striking in flower to the exquisite Impatiens stuhlmanni, it is both more vigorous and more hardy, surviving light frosts with very little damage and growing upright and strong. Each flower is 2” wide, with candy-pink color and an interesting curled spur in back. The Bay Area is a perfect locale for many rare Impatiens like this one, which favors cool Summers and relatively mild Winters. Grow in rich soil, in a shady location, with somewhat regular water for best effect. Grows to 4’ tall and wide, with many upright stems and softly hairy leaves.
