This robust, massively blooming “Butterfly Bush” is esteemed for its deepest purple-blue, dense flower spikes ornamented with bright orange eyes. A butterfly magnet and outstanding cut flower, it’s EASY, hardy and blooms June-Oct., especially if deadheaded. In colder areas than ours, it grows to only 4’-5’ tall and wide, but here in our mild climate it can easily reach to 8’ – sooo, we cut ours back to 6” in Winter and to 3’ in mid-Summer for a more compact shape. Rich, decently draining soil. Clayish tolerant.
