This prostrate form of “California Sagebrush” features silvery aromatic foliage that is delightfully fuzzy to the touch. Staying under one foot tall and spreading to 4’ wide, it’s an excellent choice for use as a ground cover in a dry bed, for cascading over a low rock wall, or for covering a problem area. Tough as nails but beautiful, it adds a silvery glow to any sunny bed and combines well with other drought tolerant natives such as “CA Buckwheats”, “Yarrows”, “Milkweed” and native Lupines. The finely cut foliage sprouts small white flowers in Summer, adding to the delicate look of the plant. Native to chaparral, oak woodland and coastal scrub regions, this sagebrush is highly adaptable to a wide range of habitats if given good drainage. Plant in light shade inland to full sun on the coast in average to rocky soils. Deer resistant.
