Lamb's Ears is one the loveliest and most durable ground covers for a sunny bed but did you know there's a species with small, silvery leaves and YELLOW flowers? One inch round silvery-white leaves are reason enough to add this 6” high by 18” wide, mat-forming evergreen perennial to your garden. Their dramatic woolly texture is enhanced by compact spikes of half inch creamy-yellow flowers come summer. Hailing from rocky screes in the mountainous regions of Greece, this tough as nails ground cover is used to poor and porous soils. It prefers sun but can handle light shade. It is ideal for use as a low border, for cascading over a rock wall or for providing a carpet through which taller perennials can grow. Its look can be enhanced with decorative gravel and it does well in a dry garden bed. It needs excellent drainage, wants very little water once established and can be trimmed as needed for the desired look. Deer resistant.
