In the case of this vine, “large flowered” is practically an understatement. Try “Humongous Flowered” - in fact, I've seen more than one person respond to the plant in this way: “OMG is that thing carnivorous? Is it real? Is it going to eat me?” If you have a large stretch of fence (30-40' or so) that you'd like to cover with something very showy & tropical looking, here's your plant! It's also perfect for arbors, patio covers, gazebos – anywhere you can provide strong support! Individual flowers are up to 8” across, cup-shaped & colored golden yellow with deep maroon stripes. Peak bloom is Spring through early Summer. Hardy into the high 20's, but protect young plants, as an established plant will be more likely to recover from frost than a new start. Native to Mexico & Central America. Evergreen where hardy.
