Lip smacking, big, 2" furry-topped rich purple-blue "parrot-beaked" flowers held stunningly in black calyces above the foliage on 8-14" upright spikes create a handsome hummingbird candy store and welcome blue color from September to Spring. A big boy, this hard-to-find late season head-turner can grow to 6-8' tall and 5' across (cut back in early Summer for shorter stature). Largish heart-shaped foliage is lovely throughout the year. Side-dress with a 2" layer of compost in Spring for ultimate beauty. Nice in large (25+ gal) containers, too! Deer resistant.
