Deepest scarlet, near-black flowers glow with a deep, dark splendor from Spring-early Summer, filling the air with their delightful Sweet Pea fragrance. Quickly growing 5-6’ tall if given something to climb on, it can also be allowed to cascade over the side of a container – especially nice in a window box where it can dangle provocatively. Makes a wonderful cut flower, adding bold contrast to bouquets. Plant in rich, airy soil as soon as the last frost has passed. Fertilize regularly to encourage growth and pluck plenty of the long-stemmed flowers for bouquets as deadheading drastically prolongs the bloom season. Your efforts will be rewarded with a seemingly endless explosion of flowers. Self-sows for freebies next year!
