Cotulas are commonly known as Water Buttons or Button Weeds. The name comes from their charming and remarkable disc-shaped flowers that look like sunny buttons nodding in the sun. This is a large and ancient genus of plants that varies greatly in appearance. Most will have soft, ferny foliage, desired by gardeners for their ability to provide a low and dense groundcover.
