Like ribbons of sunlight spilled across the spring hills of California, Eschscholzia californica ‘Orange’ glows with clear, satiny blooms above soft blue-green foliage. This iconic native poppy is as easygoing as it is beautiful, lighting up gardens, slopes, and even tough parking strips with waves of vivid orange-red flowers. Plant it alongside Nemophila menziesii “Baby Blue Eyes” for a classic, heart-stopping California wildflower pairing.

Flowering generously from spring into summer, it thrives in poor or rich soil alike and asks for very little once established. Let plants dry down after bloom to maintain them as short-lived perennials, cutting back to the ground when fresh growth appears. Leave a few plants standing and they’ll happily self-sow, returning year after year in cheerful drifts. To 18" tall x 9" wide. Deer resistant.
