I love this beautiful new ornamental Basil! First, it adds wonderful color to the edge of a garden with its purple-black foliage. Second, its nice, dense, 18”x24” habit and tons of upright violet blooms are always buzzing with bees. Third, like suspended animation, it holds its good looks, compact form and multitude of blooms all season and into fall. Blooms are sterile, so the leaves are never bitter, tasting like Thai Basil to me! A perfect container plant, too (3+ gal)! Well-drained soil and compost.
