The blackest of the black! This whimsical succulent forms a multi-trunked airy shrub 4’ high and 2’ wide with dense rosettes of near-black leaves on the tips of long, bare branches – like wicked-cool lollipops. Beautiful planted in the mddle of the bed where its rosettes can poke up and out of other plants. Naturally branches from the base, but cutting off heads will encourage a bit of bushiness. In Summer, large, bright yellow, cone-shaped flower clusters appear, attracting loads of bees. The flower heads are the swan song of the older rosettes, which will die off, making way for new growth. Provide excellent drainage, protection from frost, and a bit of afternoon shade in hot inland gardens. More sun equals darker color.
