THE classic scented rose geranium! Features deeply indented green leaves with darker ribs, with a mature size of 3’x3’. While the 1.5” five-petaled pink flowers, featuring dark purple markings on the upper petals, are certainly lovely, it’s the aromatic foliage that’s the big attraction here. One of the oldest scented geraniums, it is a major source for the commercial production of rose geranium oil. Its aromatic leaves are used in cosmetics, teas and jelly, as well as to scent potpourris and even flavor cakes. Like other geraniums, this evergreen variety is tough, drought tolerant and long blooming. It can be planted in the ground but given its tenderness to freezes, those in colder climates should consider keeping it in a pot and moving it indoors for the winter. An ideal potted plant, it can be located on a deck, used in a hanging basket or given a starring role on the front steps. Pinch for fullness. Plant in fertile, well-drained soil. Butterflies! Deer resistant.
