Thanks to the patient breeding of the late, great Richard Persoff, the gardening world can enjoy this flamboyant and garden friendly Mimulus hybrid. Color-shifting 1-2” flowers emerge a bold magenta before transitioning to a delicate pale pink. Forming a woody shrub 1-2’ high and wide with bright and shiny evergreen leaves, this super showy CA native is sure to embolden your low-water garden. Once established, it is exceptionally drought tolerant, but an occasional sip of Summer water and regular deadheading will keep the blooms coming all year after the first big flush in Spring. Resistant to browsing deer, but the flowers are a feast for all manner of bees, butterflies and hummers. Cut back to 1’ in Winter to keep it nice and bushy. Provide good drainage for a healthy plant and be careful not to over-water.
