A wonderfully fragrant, fuzzy garden friend! One of the loveliest of all the California native pitcher sages, this 4’ tall & wide evergreen shrub features intensely perfumed, furry leaves. Produces charming 2” lavender blooms (beloved by bumblebees) almost continuously Spring thru Summer. Green leaves are covered in fine, silvery hairs that grow in thicker during the cooler months (that’s right, a plant with a winter coat!) giving it an eye-catching glow. Native to the Channel Islands, it’s become threatened by development & is considered endangered by the California Native Plant Society. Grows well in full sun along the coast, it performs best in part-shade inland. Prefers well-draining soil, it’s extremely drought tolerant once established & has even been known to survive the occasional frost! *Due to Federal regulations we cannot sell this plant outside of California.
