Seduce all the local hummers with this rare and much sought after, radiant, red-flowering relative of “Angel’s Trumpet”. Shorter and stouter than other Iochromas – to only 4’ x 4’ – you’re in for almost year-round bloom. Loads of the flaring 2” trumpets held in clusters contrast handsomely against the evergreen, glossy and smaller 2” leaves. Tough and easy to grow in rich, compost-enhanced soil. Root-hardy (with mulch) to 20 degrees F, it defoliates in heavy frost but bounces back handily.
