Rich white blooms for months on this low-maintenance variety of the popular “Cupid’s Dart”. Delicate 1.5” flowers, layered with overlapping petals and brilliant purple “eyes” reflected in pale lavender margins are much loved by butterflies. They rise singly on 2’ tall wiry stems from a low, 20” wide basal clump of narrow, lanceolate grayish-green leaves. Blooms freely from Mid-Summer to Autumn, making it an ideal addition to your late season garden. Early Greeks and Romans used this Mediterranean native to make love potions, hence the common name “Cupid’s Dart”. Makes an excellent cut flower and dries very well. Grow in well-drained, humus-rich soil and avoid heavy clay. Drought tolerant once established. Short-lived deciduous perennial but may self-seed under optimal conditions.
