One of the most flavorful basils out there! This robust Genovese basil is noted for its striking columnar habit, late blooming (a good thing), and for its lush dark green foliage. Plants reach an impressive 2-3’ tall but only 1’ wide, making this selection perfect for a container or to squeeze in beside your tomatoes. Bred for resistance to downy mildew and fusarium. Fast growing and tidy, you’ll be harvesting leaves for yummy caprese salads, flavoring soups, garnishing a variety of appetizers, and pesto! Plant in fertile, well-drained soil. As it matures, give it a bit of an organic balanced fertilizer. As with all annual type basils, harvest as needed before it flowers (pinch off flower buds to prolong season).
