Often called ‘Everlasting’ or ‘Strawflowers’ for their masses of long-lasting, papery flowers atop fragrant leafed, branching stems, Helichrysum plants bloom from Spring through Fall and come in both annuals and perennials. They provide bright blooms in colors of red, white, blue, and yellow, and absolutely love sunny, dry borders. Heat-loving, water-wise Helichrysums work well in neglected areas, although bloomiest in fertile, well-drained soil. Ranging in size from 12” up to 4’, Helichrysums are magnets for pollinators.
