So sweet & juicy! My nephew Benjamin (6 years old & a confirmed watermelon-aholic) absolutely cannot resist a ripe 'Sugar Baby' straight off the vine. In fact, Ben will eat an entire melon in a single sitting. That’s no small feat! 'Sugar Baby' is the picnic standard of icebox watermelons, with 10 - 12lb + pink fleshed fruits on long, thin vines. Grows well amongst the corn, or incorporated into your flower garden. Typical harvest is 2 - 4 (seeded) fruits per vine, 65 - 80 days after planting. Fruit is ripe when the stem browns, the skin toughens up & the pale spot underneath yellows. Recommended conditions include: Full sun, in a warm location, rich, well-draining soil & moderate water, raised beds are ideal.
