Annie’s Fall Planting Festival & Natives Extravaganza
September 23rd & 24th 10am – 3pm

Fall is Planting Time!

Come learn why fall is the best time to plant, what to plant now plus tips and tricks for making sure your spring garden is spectacular!

The festivities will include gardening talks, demos, kid’s crafts, food vendors, art and of course FREE RAFFLES and the return of Annie’s SUPERMARKET SWEEP!

CA Native Plant Extravaganza
A portion of all CA native plant purchases on Sat. 9/23 will go to support the Bay Area’s
Bringing Back the Natives Tour.

10am - 11am CALIFORNIA NATIVES IN THE GARDEN
  Oscar Lucario: Landscape Designer & Land Manager, President, Board of Directors at Rescape will discuss all the benefits of planting CA natives in our gardens, why fall planting is so important, and which plants are best for our various Bay Area microclimates.
 
11am - 12pm KID’S PINCH POT MAKING
  Let the younger ones have fun crafting and decorating their own pinch pot, using air dry clay, that they can take home. (Limited to 20 participants sign-up to reserve a spot at the craft table)
 
11:45am GARDEN GOODIES FREE RAFFLE
  Enter for a chance to win great garden themed prizes.
 
11:30am - 12:30pm LEARN TO MAKE A HARVEST WREATH WITH CA NATIVES
  Jill Sowards of Violetear Studios will demonstrate how to make a beautiful wreath for your home using both fresh and dried CA Native flowers.

1:00pm - 2:00pm FALL PLANTING FOR A FABBY SPRING COTTAGE-STYLE GARDEN
  Galen Fultz: Owner of Avant Garden landscape design will discuss the cottage garden style, plant selection, including drought tolerant options and the optimal times to plant in our area for maximum success!
 
2:15pm ANNIE’S SUPERMARKET SWEEP!
  Annie’s famous fun shopping spree returns where one lucky FREE RAFFLE winner will get 15 MINUTES OF FREE SHOPPING! Somebody has to win and that could totally be you! (Must be present to win)

  Lori Caldwell, The CompostGal will teach you how to start and maintain your own worm bins. Vermicomposting creates some of the richest, best compost you can use in your garden and it’s easy to do!
