Feet, paws and fire proof! This carefree native of CA and beyond is probably one of the best lawn substitutes – especially for difficult areas where nothing will grow! Lippia repens, also known as Phylla nodiflora (or the wonderfully tongue-twisty "turkey tangle frogfruit") is highly adaptive to most soils: wet, dry, even clay. Plant 2’ apart for a quick, dense, creeping turf only 2” tall or use it for erosion control. Pretty 1/2” lavender-pink flower clusters appear Spring thru Fall, attracting many small butterflies and bees. Shear flowers periodically if bees are a problem. Evergreen, but after cold Winters, toss about some compost for lush, new growth. Edging prevents it from spreading into unwanted areas.
Our priority is to deliver outstanding customer service, and we are committed to ensuring your satisfaction!
If your plants arrive damaged or fail to thrive within 30 days of receipt, we will gladly issue a store credit or refund for the original purchase price of the plants.

Tough as nails
Polite spreader, flowers are tiny but bee magnets and great comeback every spring. In Portland Or area, so tolerating our wet cold winters just fine. She’s a little tuffie!

Bullet-proof parking strip, low maintenance solution
We are in Davis with valley heat, valley low humidity, hard clay soil, expensive water. Planted in 2016, has not been watered for eight years! Requires trimming 3 or 4 times along paths and sidewalk.
