One of the easiest and most reliable of the Cape bulbs! Ixia dubia provides masses of delightful star-shaped flowers (3-5) crowded atop slender, graceful stalks to 20” tall. The 2” across, long tubed bright apricot-orange flowers are beautifully contrasted by the dark central eye. Adapted to wet winters and dry summers. They want a summer rest (no water) when they go deciduous. Other than that, simple and reliable and they increase over time. Grow in a well-drained summer-dry garden or in a container. Makes an excellent cut flower too!
