A cheery native sunflower with golden yellow 2” flowers and tidy basal foliage. Native to the Northern coastal areas of California, its fresh dark-green lance shaped leaves are nearly 1’ long, forming a small full mound about 8-10” high and 2’ wide, above which the bright yellow sunflowers bob on 18-24” stems. Attracts scads of butterflies and bees. Blooming late spring and early summer, this tap-rooted perennial is quite hardy and will return and form additional clumps year after year if happy. Needing only low water and well-draining soil we add the proviso that rich soil will help this adorable native shine with even more blooms and healthier foliage during its bloom season. Drought tolerant once established.
