NEGLECT IS A PLUS when it comes to this beautiful & hard to find native bulb. Our beloved propagator, Anni Jensen planted one in her dry clay parking strip some years ago & since then, is rewarded each May & June with a spreading colony of rich lavender-blue spherical flower heads atop a gaggle of upright wiry stems. Anni provides NO WATER & NO COMPOST. Very heat tolerant & lovely cut flowers. Deciduous after bloom the bulb goes dormant during the Summer, during which time it would appreciate a dry rest. Native to the Sierra foothills, as well as the Northern coast of California. In Fall, the grass-like leaves appear again. To 1-3’ high.
