Looking for a late blooming shrub? Caryopteris incana is an excellent choice! Flowering late Summer into Winter, it doesn’t even mind poorish soil or dry conditions. Growing to 3’-5’ tall & wide, it bears showy clusters of intense dark purple flowers which completely encircle the stem. In flower, the whole bush is a display of bright purple, almost like a Ceanothus. Greyish, downy, aromatic foliage, too! Native to China & Japan.
