Now Plant This!
Our favorite must-have Spring plants and combos!
Nemophila and Silene

Sweet garden dreams are made of this scrumptious and EASY combo in dreamsicle shades! Fast-growing and free-blooming Antirrhinum majus 'Chantilly Peach' (top) and Agrostemma githago 'Milas' make the most gorgeous Springtime bouquets!

The essence of Spring! You'll always see Nemophila menziesii "Baby Blue Eyes" tumbling from containers and beds in our Spring gardens. Gorgeous with all our CA native wildflowers and seen here with goof-proof perennial Silene dioica.

Scabiosa caucasica ‘Fama Blue’ Viola 'Etain'

Scabiosa caucasica ‘Fama Blue’
Hands down the backbone of our Spring gardens and a BLOOM machine, 'Fama' is an EASY and reliable, mildew-free bee and butterfly magnet! Deer resistant! Hardy to USDA zone 4. Perfection with apricot bloomers like 'Double Azalea Bronze' Snapdragons.

Viola ‘Etain’
The most valuable of Violas! Reliably perennial and heavy blooming (everblooming here by the Bay!), scented flowers are beautiful candied or in salads. Hardy USDA zone 3! Combines so prettily with perennial "Forget-Me-Not" Myosotis palustris.

Papaver sp. ‘Greek’ Papaver rhoeas ‘Amazing Grey’
Papaver sp. ‘Greek’
Easy breezy "Greek Poppy" produces a bounty of true red blooms on a wildflowery 20" x 20" form, self-sowing for seasons to come. Quick to grow and bloom, it pairs perfectly with perennial and easy-going Silene dioica and fun and frothy Omphalodes linifolia.
Papaver rhoeas ‘Amazing Grey’
The flowers on this “Shirley Poppy” are one of the most unique and unforgettable colors we've ever seen! Pleated 2" semi-double blooms are variable, yielding a fascinating rainbow of grays, lavenders and antique violet – all beautiful! Self-sows!
Lathyrus odoratus 'North Shore' Clianthus puniceus "Parrot's Bill"

Lathyrus odoratus 'North Shore'
There's still time to plant old-fashioned romantic "Sweet Peas" but do it soon if you want them to grow big and bodacious for early Spring bloom! Wavy-petalled 'North Shore' boasts fragrant blooms in luscious shades of purple, violet and blue lavender.

Clianthus puniceus "Parrot's Bill"
THE plant everyone wants when it blooms in Spring! Radiantly rosy 3"-long "parrot bill" flowers on a handsome ferny foliaged 4' x 4' shrub make this NZ native a fab focal point. I mean, look at it in its glory this March! Easy, fast, hardy USDA zone 8.
