Combo of the Week!
Tried-and-True Plant Combos That'll Work
Harder Than You Do!

Pretty pastels mix and mingle in this sweetheart of a Spring garden featuring California native wildflowers "Baby Blue Eyes", "Arroyo Lupine" and "Tufted Poppy". Plant now for a beautiful bloom-at-the-same-time explosion come April! Supporting perennial castmates Geranium 'Bill Wallis', Aquilegia 'Krystal', Delphinium elatum 'Cobalt Dreams' and Dianthus plumarius 'Rose de Mai' provide structure and bloom well into Summer and beyond.

A handful of our easiest and most popular self-sowing annuals Nicotiana 'Lime Green', Agrostemma 'Milas' and Cynoglossum amabile 'Blue Showers' round out the show, providing a happy parade of free plants for seasons to come!

Nemophila menziesii "Baby Blue Eyes" Lupinus succulentus ‘Rodeo Rose’

Nemophila menziesii "Baby Blue Eyes"
Our favorite California native wildflower – the true blue color of a clear Springtime sky! We use it extensively to fill in and trail perfectly over the edge of all our beds. Self-sows!

Lupinus succulentus ‘Rodeo Rose’
An easy and fast-growing filler sure to bring all the bees to the yard with months of candylicious (and rare for a Lupine) pink and cherry bicolor blooms! Sweetly scented! Mildew/rust free!
Eschscholzia caespitosa “Tufted Poppy” Aquilegia caerulea ‘Krystal’

Eschscholzia caespitosa “Tufted Poppy”
Nothing says meadowy like CA native “Tufted Poppy!” Plant here and there for maximum cheer and an abundance of sweetly scented Primrose flowers. Pretty, ferny foliage. Self-sows.

Aquilegia caerulea ‘Krystal’
The largest flowers we've seen on a Columbine AND reliably perennial, long-lived and fragrant unlike so many modern hybrids. Long-blooming with deadheading. Hardy USDA zone 3.

Check out our VIDEO spotlighting even more of our favorite dream-team combinations. So many of these wonderful CA natives and Mediterranean annuals self-sow, which means you'll enjoy repeat performances next Spring and beyond!

For maximum happiness (yours AND the plants), be sure to give your hearty new friends well-draining and fertile soil (i.e.: NOT heavy clay!). A 1" layer of compost on top of the soil just after planting will give them a much-appreciated boost and get them off to a good start.
